Market Chest

A market chest is an ordinary chest on your island turned into a shop. There’s no sign: above the chest stand the item it sells, its name, the price of one and the stock, and every player reads them in their own language. It has no command; everything happens at the chest.

Setting one up

Left-click a chest on your island with the item you’ll sell, then type the price of one in the chat: 250, 1,500 or 1.5k. Right-click the chest to open it and put in what you’ll sell; whatever is in the chest is for sale. A hopper above fills the chest; one below can’t empty it.

It can only be set up on your own island, not at spawn or on someone else’s island. It takes the island role’s Market Access: the leader and Admins have it, other roles get it from Island Permissions in the island panel.

Buying and selling

Click someone’s market chest and type how many you want in the chat: 16, all or cancel. Ask for too many and you get as many as you can: what is left in the chest, what your money covers and what fits in your inventory.

If the owner sets a buying price as well, the chest buys too: players sell to it, paid from the owner’s money. On a chest that does both, right-click buys and left-click sells.

While you’re away

The chest keeps trading while you’re offline. When you come back, one message tells you what it sold and bought and how much money it made. Tax comes off the money a player receives; Helios VIPs pay none.

Settings and the hologram

Left-click your chest to open its settings: the selling and buying price, the hologram’s look and removing the market. The hologram can be normal, small or off; the small one stands in front of the chest, for a chest set into a floor or a wall. Sneak and left-click to break the chest.
